What do Olivia Dean, Jacob Elordi and Elle Fanning have in common? They all got their hands on Bottega Veneta‘s latest It bag.
Though the spring collections have only just launched, one bag has already broken away from the pack. Sleek, understated and supple, the eponymous Veneta bag debuted on the spring/summer 2026 and instantly set the mood for the new season.

For Spring 2026, the luxury space is anchoring itself in heritage, celebrating the defining features of individual Houses and reminding us of the vast expertise of each brand, distilled into signifying details. At Gucci, it’s bold statement motifs of supreme canvas and horsebit hardware. Under Matthieu Blazy’s watchful eye, Chanel is accenting every new piece with the distinctive double C. For Bottega Veneta, it’s much more subtle. First, the Intrecciato weave that distinguishes the brand’s designs has been applied, followed by the supple form and sculptural ease. Void of bold branding, these timeless and enduring details are subtle nods to luxury that radiate designer origins in the most understated of ways.

My initial response to the Veneta bag was that I knew it. Yes, as a handbag-obsessed editor, I spend a significant amount of time familiarising myself with both new and enduring luxury buys. But this was more than my recognition of its previous launch in 2002. The masterful construction, the circular shape, and the ease of the bag felt incredibly familiar. That’s because the Veneta bag feels so fundamentally true to the brand; it instantly feels like a defining piece.

The fact that this bag feels so current and yet has decades of history behind it is a testament to the enduring appeal. Whilst the bag has been redesigned and reconfigured over the years, its overall appeal has remained strong, and, with an understated effect, it’s sure to withstand the moving trends once more. No frills, no logos, no of-the-moment motifs, just a true return to the brand’s heritage that continues to feel relevant year after year.

The brand’s repertoire of iconic styles is extensive. From the Jodie to the Campana, Bottega Veneta has built its legacy on enduring designs, reissued year after year as their continued appeal. From the Baby, a small in-hand bag for evenings out, to the most capacious Maxi that can carry all your worldly goods, and more, the soft leather style comes in four sizes and a series of sleek colourways. From the suede lining to the brass hardware finish, all the small details expose the craftspersonship that goes into creating the Veneta bag. Beyond the runway, celebrities and fashion people are embracing the bag’s return, and adding it to their forever collections. If you’re looking for an investment bag that has luxury, design prowess and enduring appeal at its core, you’ll want to scroll on.
