Merlot and butter yellow have had a firm grip on my wardrobe for over a year. Once unfamiliar to my personal style, these colors have earned a permanent place in my closet. While they’ve become my new “neutrals,” I’m increasingly intrigued by spring’s leading color trends. The new guard includes blush pink (more of a seasonal classic than a passing trend), royal purple or eggplant, apple green, cognac, and every shade of blue imaginable. The colors that feel especially fresh this spring are the purples and greens I’ve spotted everywhere from the Prada runway to the Lower East Side.
